MSc Students
The Institute of Cognitive Neuroscience is not only committed to groundbreaking research, but also to world-class teaching. This page provides details on undergraduate and postgraduate taught programmes (usually leading to a Masters degree) available through the ICN and summer projects for students who are still in school:
MSC in Cognitive Neuroscience
The ICN organizes the successful MSc in Cognitive Neuroscience. Click here for further information.
Other MSc programmes
ICN faculty and staff contribute actively and teach on many other UCL MSc programmes, including:
• MSc in Clinical Neuroscience
• MSc in Research Methods in Psychology
• MSc in Cognitive and Decision Sciences
• MSc in Neuroscience, Language, and Communication
• MSc in Psychodynamic Developmental Neuroscience
Most of these Masters courses incorporate a research project, and ICN faculty are delighted to offer project opportunities to such students. Students already enrolled on a UCL Masters and interested in working at the ICN on their postgraduate research project are invited to contact the Group Leader whose research interests most closely matches theirs.
Undergraduate teaching
Consistent with the ICN’s interdisciplinary nature, ICN faculty also teach on many undergraduate programmes across the School of Life and Medical Sciences. Courses that are convened by Group Leaders include third year undergraduate options offered by the Division of Psychology and Language Sciences (Cognitive Neuroscience, The Brain in Action, and Mathematical Cognition) and the Anatomy Department (Neural computation: models of brain function). ICN faculty also offer optional modules to undergraduate medical students at UCL Medical School.
Finally, we offer undergraduate students the opportunity to be directly involved in our research. Students who are interested in collaborating on a research project as part of their undergraduate degree (including intercalating medical students from UCL Medical School) are invited to contact the Group Leader whose research interests most closely matches theirs.
Schools
Summer projects may be available for students who are still in school. There are stipends available for those projects (e.g. from the Nuffield Foundation). Students interested in research should contact the relevant group leader directly to talk about potential summer projects.
